Samsung’s Galaxy A series of smartphones are generally a decent mix of performance and affordability.
In March 2022, the company unveiled the latest iteration of the series, including the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G and Samsung Galaxy A33 5G. Almost a year later, we are now seeing rumors about the A54.
So here’s everything we know so far about the Samsung Galaxy A54.
What is the release date of the Samsung Galaxy A54?
There is no official release date for the Galaxy A54 yet, but it could be soon.
There were brief hopes when Samsung India teased the launch of an unnamed A-series phone in January, but it turned out to be the combined launch of the A14 and A23.
Still, a launch is likely soon based on the fact that previous models all arrived in the spring:
As you can see, the best thing is that the Galaxy A54 will arrive in March/April 2023.
How much will the Samsung Galaxy A54 cost?
As for the release date, there is no confirmed price for the Galaxy A54 at the time of writing. Again, we can look to its ancestors to see the cost that may be involved. Here’s how they lined up:
- Samsung Galaxy A53 5G – $449 / £399 / $449
- Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G – $499 / £399 / $459
- Samsung Galaxy A52 – $499 / £399 / $459
- Samsung Galaxy A51 – $399 / £329 / $399
Based on these fairly stable prices, we expect the Galaxy A54 to come in at around the same level as the A53 5G.
What will the specs and features of the Samsung Galaxy A54 be?
As you’ve probably already realized, Samsung hasn’t made any announcements regarding the Galaxy A54 yet, so we’re back in the realm of rumors and past performance to sort this out. We’ve seen some news creeping in though, with suggestions of what might be in store for the new device.
A leak from OnLeaks and 91Mobiles shows a render of the purported A54 with three rear cameras and a centered hole-punch camera, but no camera island, just three bumps where the lenses are – mimicking the S22 Ultra design, which should also be seen on the upcoming Galaxy S23 series.

The leaker adds that it expects the phone to have a 6.4-inch screen and measure around 158.3 x 76.7 x 8.2mm.
Android Headlines also shared a set of A54 renders, which hint at possible colors, with black, green, white, and pale purple.
We’ve seen the display again in an image from another leaker, Evan Blass aka evleaks, with a hint of a pale green finish. He tweeted images of the screens of two phones with one word: “Awesome”. That’s the classic Galaxy A series slogan, and since the other phone has a teardrop notch rather than a punch-hole, it seems likely that this model is the A54.

As for specs, we’ve already seen the A54 appear on the Geekbench benchmark, where it scored 776 in the single-core test and 2,599 in the multi-core benchmark – decent scores for a mid-range and a significant improvement over compared to the 1,833 multi-core scores we recorded when reviewing the A53.
The listing reveals that the phone runs Android 13 (no big surprise) and has 6GB of RAM – although we’d expect to see at least an 8GB option as well at launch. The chipset is listed as the S5E8835, which is most likely the successor to the Exynos 1280, and presumably called the Exynos 1380. The processor apparently has four 2.4 GHz performance cores and four 2.0 GHz efficiency cores. , with a Mali G68 GPU.
Galaxy Club reports a few more details about the phone’s specs. First, it will apparently upgrade to a 50Mp main camera – something you might see as a downgrade from the A53’s 64Mp shooter, but in practice it’s likely to be a better sensor and lens .
The site also says the phone is expected to have a slightly larger battery, with a rated capacity of 4905mAh. This has since been confirmed, as that exact battery capacity was listed in the phone’s FCC certification documents – alongside news that it will ship with a 25W charger (the same speed as the A53).
The A53 battery was rated at 4860mAh and advertised as a typical 5000mAh battery, so that likely means the A54 will be officially listed with either 5050mAh or 5100mAh. Not a big difference, but hey, every little bit counts.
That’s all we’ve gathered so far, but of course we’ll update this article as more details emerge. Be sure to check back regularly to see what we discover. Until then, why not browse our roundup of the best mid-range phones to see what other options are available.
