While foldable smartphones will still be a niche in 2023, many experts believe it will be the next big trend. However, what we haven’t seen that often are foldable tablets. According to the well-informed Apple analyst Ming Chi Kuo, Apple will introduce a foldable iPad in 2024 – before the first iPhone foldable.
The foldable iPad will come with a kickstand
On his Twitter account, he writes that Apple has no iPad releases planned for the next nine to twelve months. The foldable iPad will appear next year with a completely new design. Kuo is pretty sure the tablet will be released in 2024, but he doesn’t give an exact timeframe.

Its sources assume that the foldable iPad will have a kickstand, which is made of carbon fiber. This is to be manufactured by the Chinese component manufacturer Anjie Technology. Kuo still predicts that iPad sales will fall by around 10 to 15 percent in 2023. The foldable iPad should boost sales again as part of this.
The rumors are also bolstered by Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants. According to his information, Apple is currently testing a 20-inch display. He assumes that it could be a foldable iPad Pro. In a tweet, however, he writes that several iPads with OLED screens will come in 2024, but he hasn’t heard anything more about foldable tablets.
