last November, Google announced a novelty in Gmail It should have been released in the middle of the Christmas campaign due to its usefulness, but after a short delay, it started reaching Android devices in the last days of January.
This is the new Gmail tracking tool, a feature that makes our lives easier, to help us track our orders straight from the inbox and our emails.
Track sends in Gmail
Google wants to put an end to this little inconvenience of check the status of our orderwhich usually translates to searching your inbox for the order confirmation email, finding the tracking number, and following a series of links to view the Shipment Tracking.
To avoid this small inconvenience, Google has integrated into Gmail a tool of Shipment Tracking to view the status of an order directly in the mail. Both in the inbox and in the order email, we can see the estimated arrival date and its status, such as “Label created”, “Arrived tomorrow” or “Delivered today”. Gmail will automatically look up order status using the tracking numbers it detects in your inbox.
When Google broke the news, it said package tracking would be available on most major carriers in the United States, but the option that enables the Shipment Tracking It’s also available in more countries, including Europe, although it’s unclear in which countries this order tracking will work.
By default, the option that follows our commands is disabled. To activate it, you must go to the Settings from the Gmail application, click on your Gmail account and activate the new option Shipment Tracking. As indicated by this option, Google will share tracking numbers with shipping companies to know the status of the shipment and can display it directly in your mail application.
