The rumor mill should be right again: The next part of Ubisoft’s open-world racing series is called The Crew: Motorfest and is now official. While the release is scheduled for 2023, there will soon be a chance to take part in the insider program.
Yesterday’s announcement via Twitter turned out to be correct: Ubisoft got down to business today and actually announced The Crew: Motorfest, the latest part of the open-world racing series. The now third part of the franchise is scheduled to appear in the course of 2023, but has no specific release date yet. After all, the platforms are already certain: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC (Ubisoft Store, Epic Games Store) will be supplied. The title is also available via Ubisoft+ and appears for Amazon’s game streaming service Luna.
The rumor mill should not only be right with the naming, but also with the setting. Motorfest is actually set in the Hawaiian archipelago on the island of O’ahu. There you can jet through the streets of Honolulu, zoom down ash-covered volcanic slopes or maneuver your cars through the lush rainforest. Winding mountain roads or sunny beaches are of course also on board – and you can experience all of this with hundreds of legendary vehicles.
Otherwise, Ubisoft promises tailor-made races, themed events and unique challenges for the new part. What all this means in detail is to be made public in the coming months.
Ivory Tower is again responsible for the development, but the developer studio also wants to get the players on board themselves. Starting tomorrow, February 1st, you can register for the Insider Program, which gives you early access to the game to get behind the wheel. This closed test, divided into different phases, aims to help the development team gather feedback to ensure an optimal gameplay experience at launch and beyond. The first phase of the Insider program will be limited to PC, with the final phases opening this closed test to consoles as well.
