After crediting his arrival in the MCU with the film Thunderbolts, Harrison Ford reveals why he agreed to return for Indiana Jones 5 one last time.
The criticism against itIndiana Jones 4 and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull could have failed the cult franchise, but it isn’t. Indiana Jones 5 will be released this year in cinemas with the participation ofHarrison Ford
Indiana Jones 5, a matter of passion or money?
Even discussing Indiana Jones 5 and the Dial of Destiny with its opening scene, the first snippets look rather reassuring. We feel more like we have a film that could be inserted after the Last Crusade, with a Nazi villain played by Mads Mikkelsen, traps that will get the adventurer into trouble, and the more unexpected return of John Rhys Davies.
But why did Harrison Ford decide to return for Indiana Jones 5 after an unappreciated fourth installment? Like perhaps some viewers, he wanted to see the end of Indy’s career.
I always wanted to do that. I wanted to follow the story to see the end of his career. But this is the last time for me.
Over diversity.
“This is the last time for me”, a phrase Ford already uttered when saying goodbye at the Disney D23 convention. In Indiana Jones 5 and Dial of Destiny, the adventurer meets Nazi Wernher von Braun (Mads Mikkelsen), turned NASA engineer, and his watchdog Voller (Boyd Holbrook).
Alongside the search for the emblematic character Sallah, Doctor Jones will attempt to survive this ultimate ordeal alongside his goddaughter Helena (Phoebe Waller-Bridge). See you in Indiana Jones 5 cinemas on June 30, 2023.
