Class, Play

You've made your choice - and there's one class you'd most like to try in Diablo 4

You’ve made your choice – and there’s one class you’d most like to try in Diablo 4

The release of Diablo 4 is getting closer and closer, in four months it’s time – and before that there’s also an open beta that could start soon.

So it makes perfect sense to start thinking about class selection now. Fabiano, one of our Diablo experts, is currently quite torn, because choosing a class has never been so difficult as in Diablo 4:

Diablo 4 makes class selection harder than ever for me

That’s why he asked you a few days ago how you are doing: Do the GameStar readers have a clear favorite or are you just as undecided?

You have exactly one favourite

Over 6,000 of you participated in our question. The first thing to notice, of course, is that a full 94 percent of you are currently planning to give Diablo 4 a chance. The Warcraft 3 debacle; Reforged and Diablo Immortal may not be forgotten, but Blizzard’s new RPG gets a lot right ahead of release.

Not only the greatest Diablo professionals agree that the gameplay is completely convincing, Fabiano also shows up after a week with the action RPG enthused. And even Blizzard’s biggest critic Maurice had a surprising amount of fun in the first act:

Apropos Maurice: By choosing your favorite class, you’ve definitely made him incredibly proud, because it’s no secret that our in-house streamer prefers to play the Necromancer – no matter what game. As he said in the recent Spellforce: Conquest of Eo preview video:

The Necromancer is, by definition, the best class in any game where it’s available. And anyone who doubts that…

You listened to Maurice and voted him first with 22 percent of all votes. So the Necromancer, not Maurice.

Behind it, the field becomes rather difficult to see through: Druid and sorceress share second place with 16 percent each, because only a measly vote separates the shapeshifter and the magician. But you’re obviously very excited that the druid, who made his first and last appearance in the Diablo 2 add-on Lord of Destruction, is now making a comeback.

Slayer (15 percent of the vote) and Barbarian (14 percent) are also just slightly behind, so apart from the Necro there are no real favorites among you – Maurice is guaranteed to be proud!
