Netflix’s new account sharing policy goes into effect today.
Netflix recently announced its new account sharing policy through the payment of an additional amount. Following his statement, many users of the streaming platform criticized the company’s decision. A decision that could prove counterproductive for the service, which in the first quarter of 2022 announced that it had lost 200,000 subscribers.
Many subscribers think that Netflix should improve the content of its catalog instead of instituting this type of ban. But, according to Netflix, 40% of its users are not subscribed to the service and share accounts to enjoy their content. Now, a large number of subscribers have criticized the company for its latest move.
Deluge of criticism on Netflix
From Netflix, they assured that they will consider feedback from subscribers who use the new feature to add additional subscribers in each subscription plan to refine and improve its services. Please note that this feature is not available worldwide and has been released in very few regions on a trial basis.
Here are some of the most enthusiastic reviews on Twitter of Netflix’s new policy.
I’ve been defending Netflix’s way of working since my subscription, but the change in strategy regarding shared accounts has no possible defense. It’s a scam and a lack of respect for customers, that we see that their productions are more and more mediocre 👎🏻👎🏻 pic.twitter.com/JGvSmgr4mO

A premium account already had the concept of being able to share it with up to 4 users regardless of their residence. I understand that when accounts don’t balance it’s hard to find a way to mitigate losses, but bleeding users isn’t the answer and you’ll soon be backing off.

For anyone who hasn’t experienced the Blockbuster host, now you can enjoy a similar host with something contemporary.

What if I have 2 houses in 2 different locations?
No, listen, I better unsubscribe and you stay here with your move and I watch TV wherever I want or with other platforms.

If I pay for two screens, I have the right to see two screens. Where I see them is none of your business and you are no one to decide where I should see them. No problem, I’m unsubscribing right away

“We know there is a lot of confusion about how to share Netflix”

You have to have really big balls to justify it with a “we want you to have more control over your account”. Above taking us for fools.

Netflix decides to spend our money on a video game division that counts as 2 units of people, instead of renewing our series and offering quality content. But those who don’t understand the service are us. Fuck you, my handsome.

The truth is that some of the reviews are absolutely devastating. Social networks are burning in USA, but they’re not the only place where people are starting a small revolution against Netflix, the shutdown of shared accounts is on everyone’s lips and talked about in bars, bakeries and other workplaces. What do you think of this ban?
