Nintendo surprised almost everyone earlier this week when it released Metroid Prime Remastered after years of constant rumors.
While most people are happy, it seems that not everyone is happy. Former Retro studio engineer Zoid Kirsch, who recently mentioned that he wasn’t very impressed with the quality of the doors in the remaster, has now expressed his frustration with the game’s credits – noting that it doesn’t include all of the original credits.
Instead, it’s a single screen, simply noting that the remaster is “based on the work of the Metroid Prime development staff”:
Zoid Kirsch (@ZoidCTF): “While many studios did an amazing job on the remaster, I’m disappointed Metroid Prime Remaster doesn’t include the full creators of the original game. I worked with so many amazing people on the game and everyone’s name should be included in the remaster, not just one card like this.”
Kirsch originally worked on Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes for the GameCube as a senior gameplay engineer. This situation is not exactly isolated – with else the original development teams are also excluded from the feature credits of remasters and remakes today.
A similar Pac-Man World Re-PAC story surfaced last year, with Bandai Namco patching the original staff credits.
