The John Wick films are a stuntman franchise. Directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch are legendary stunt performers and coordinators, and one of the joys of their films, which grows with each installment, is that Stahelski (who now directs the films alone) attracts more and more action professionals from around the world adds, such as Mark Dacascos of Wu Assassin
Scott Adkins is usually seen with insanely athletic kicks. He has the kind of physique you might expect from someone who needs to convincingly portray action heroes who can turn someone’s light off with their shins. Here he simultaneously disables an enemy and presses a button in the 2020s Max Cloud
Here, on the other hand, he will appear as “Killa”. John Wick: Chapter 4.
Adkins plays against type here in a way that feels a lot like Colin Farrell’s penguin The Batman — and previous Adkins films like Accident Man: Hitman’s vacation Show off the action star’s willingness to have fun while kicking ass.
Regardless of how much pain Adkins deals (or doesn’t!) as Killa, John Wick: Chapter 4 is Adkin’s best-known role to date. For many people, it may be their first encounter with him. What a kick they’ll get from seeing what he’s usually up to once they dig into his back catalogue.
John Wick: Chapter 4 hits theaters on March 24th.
