The movies and series of the postapocalyptic worlds They’re still a genre that gets quite a bit of attention since the early 2000s. From Dawn of the Dead to 28 Days Later, these kinds of feature films always tend to have a good fan base.
One of the ones that shone the most at the time was I’m legendthe film starring Will Smith that made such an impact because of everything that happened in just over an hour and a half. Well, it seems that the story of this survivor will continue more than a decade later with a second part.
According to the media DeadlineWarner has retained the services of Akiva Goldsman, the main scriptwriter of the 2008 movie, to make different sequels to some pretty famous movies. One of them will be I am Legend, with Will Smith back and with the signing of Michael B. Jordan as a surprise signing.
Goldsman comments that the film will take place several decades later, and will have The Last of Us (both the Playstation game and the HBO series) as a great reference for the sequel. This has been commented by the scriptwriter himself through a statement.
“I’m obsessed with The Last of Us, where we see the world just after the apocalypse but also after a lapse of 20 to 30 years. You see how the earth reclaims the world. That will be reflected quite a bit in New York. I don’t know if they will go up to the Empire State Building, but the possibilities are endless. We go back to Matheson’s original book and alternate ending instead of the ending published in the original movie. Matheson was talking about that man’s time on the planet as the dominant species had come to an end, and it’s something very interesting that we’ll explore in this sequel. There will be a little more fidelity to the original book.”
He has also commented that they are preparing a sequel to Constantineanother film directed by Francis Lawrence quite loved by the public in which Keanu Reeves hunt down a lot of demons to avoid going to hell.
