What’s wrong with the game developers who also bring their games to the PC … now EA has also caught it with Wild Hearts, the game is completely swatted off by the users on Steam.
Actually, Wild Hearts is not a bad game and a worthy competitor for Monster Hunter, as colleague Dennis was able to determine during his test. However, he also had to realize that the PC version is hardly playable in its current state. Not only that there are problems with the display on AMD cards, apparently even high-class CPUs turn out to be bottlenecks that ensure poor performance.
The developers have already announced an update and promised to work on other problems. However, the current state is not worthy of a release. The first user reviews on Steam are correspondingly harsh, almost 80 percent of which are negative and above all criticize the miserable performance of the game. Koei Tecmo and EA are catching rows of violets right now.
Not uncommon, as one has to say. It’s noticeable that multiplatform releases have been struggling with massive technical problems again and again lately. Whether it’s Gotham Knights, The Callisto Protocol, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, Forspoken or, most recently, Hogwarts Legacy – all major releases had to struggle with sometimes massive performance problems or bugs, especially with the display.
Only Sony has shown itself to be a reasonable exception in recent months – the PC ports of titles such as Spider-Man, God of War and now Returnal make a much more mature impression. However, this is probably also due to the fact that these were not multiplatform releases. Let’s hope that the developers will find their way back to old virtues and that we won’t be overwhelmed by half-baked versions in the future. Not everyone has the opportunity not to postpone half-baked releases, but to publish them as early access and hope that the players will be able to suffer, as is currently the case with Sons of the Forest.
