Is there a player from the “Fallout” saga in the room? Especially those who enjoyed ‘Fallout 4’ surely remember this wallpaper, these cafeterias in chameleon green before the catastrophe, the nuclear meltdown. Set in a retro-futuristic North America clearly inspired by the aesthetics of the 50s and 60s, ‘For a better tomorrow’ carries the same formula.
And the premise couldn’t be more bizarre: a group of cold door sellers try to make money selling timeshares on the Moon. Real estate fever in a world where flying cars, automatic nodes, jetpacks and multivitamins are the order of the day. The team behind ‘Bloodline’ is back with a series for Apple TV+ that can become the season premiere and go straight to the Olympus of the top 21 series on Apple TV+.
The first three episodes are now available – all around 30 minutes, as is the usual trend on the platform –; the fourth will be issued on February 24 and so on, one per week, until you complete all ten season chapters. Best of all? You can watch the first episode for free.
‘For a better future’, a very particular space dystopia
Sell houses on the moon. It’s part of Jack’s dream of life, an advertisement of mogul aspirations that inspires all his colleagues but, as usually happens in other satires on obsessions, is only food for his own dreams. With your smile, Jack has the ability to convince anyone, to save a marriage and to fool the most incredulous.. But no one will set foot on the lunar surface, no matter how much we have conquered it: only the rich will have access to their cosmic apartments.
The aesthetic is luscious, the performances swing between histrionic and hallucinatory, and the tone swings from comedy to disturbing drama within minutes. If “Separation” has already left thousands of viewers riveted and “Ted Lasso” has left the most skeptical – and even the king of sport’s detractors – out of the game, “For a better future” she longs to be part of those tiny series that grow ever larger in our memory.
The cast is made up of Tommy Award-winning Billy Crudup, known for his role in ‘Watchmen’ or his co-starring role in ‘The Morning Show’, in addition to the recurring roles of Haneefah Wood (‘Truth Be Told’, ‘One Day at a Time’), Alison Pill (‘Them’, ‘The Newsroom’), Nicholas Podany (‘Harry Potter’), Dewshane Williams (‘The Umbrella Academy’, ‘In the Dark’) and Price-Hank Azaria (‘Brockmire’, ‘Ray Donovan’).
