blizzard announced Diablo 4 Early Access and Open Beta Weekend will take place in March.
Those who stake cash in the game ahead of its June 6 release will be granted early access to the March 17-19 open beta. The following weekend, March 24-26, everyone can jump into the open beta regardless of pre-order status. It will be available on PC alongside PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
During both weekends, you can explore the early game, including the prologue, the entire first act, and the first area, Fractured Peaks.
Your level cap is capped at 25 during the beta, but you can still continue playing the beta. Since this is a beta, know that not everything is finished and you may experience performance issues, outages, and some things that may break. But that’s what betas are for – to test games.
Upon release, Diablo 4 will feature cross-platform play and progression, as well as couch co-op on consoles at launch.
According to Blizzard, Sanctuary’s most brutal vision to date finds the demon Lilith and the angel Inarius as arch-enemies who have resorted to war with each other. With the Vault infested with demons, you can choose to save it as one of five classes – Druid, Rogue, Sorceress, Barbarian, or Necromancer.
Making its debut in the Diablo universe is the Overworld, where you’ll drive out the demons of hell and travel through different areas such as Fractured Peaks, Scosglen, Hawezar, Dry Steppes, and Kehjistan.
This non-linear game also features 140 dungeons, side quests and tons of loot. World bosses will appear, and you’ll need to defeat them in groups to stand a chance at their loot. There are also strongholds that can be claimed for sanctuary citizens.
Includes an end game system where you continue to grow in strength through challenges. There’s Helltide, which is a recurring event that brings a spike in demonic activity. It also features challenging Nightmare dungeons, an updated Paragon Board system, Whispers of the Dead granting World Bounty Legendary rewards, and aggro realms to build PvP.
Diablo 4 is available for digital pre-order as the Standard Edition ($69.99), Deluxe Edition ($89.99), and Ultimate Edition ($99.99). Not only does pre-ordering get you early access to the open beta, but you also get a variety of goodies depending on which version you buy.
