The successful sci-fi series “The Expanse” has meanwhile come to an end on Amazon, but developer Telltale Games wants to make fans happy with a game. The studio has now been able to land fresh funds for this and other planned titles.
Telltale Games can probably continue to work on the planned video games in peace for the time being, because the studio has now confirmed that they have been able to secure several million dollars in fresh funding. These should benefit the upcoming The Expanse: A Telltale Series, for example. The Wolf Among Us 2 will also benefit from this.
This should calm fans of the developers a bit, after all, the studio was bankrupt almost out of nowhere in 2018. LCG Entertainment subsequently breathed new life into Telltale Games and acquired the associated assets. Since then, they’ve been working on fresh narrative projects again, above all the episodic story adventure for The Expanse, which is being developed together with Deck Nine Games and is scheduled for release in the summer. The Wolf Among Us 2 is the sequel to the award-winning first part from 2013.
Both projects can now be further advanced thanks to the new funds of 8 million US dollars. Corresponding funds have now been put in by Hiro Capital and Skybound Entertainment is the studio; Both companies have been cooperating with the developer for years, especially since Skybound is also the company behind the Walking Dead comics, which Telltale has already picked up. At that time, Telltale was only able to complete The Walking Dead: The Final Season with the support of Skybound.
Incidentally, a fresh gameplay trailer for The Expanse was recently released as part of the IGN Fan Fest, which you can watch below.
