The endless journey of the Pokemon Trading Card game continues – we’ve got an exclusive look at one of the newest additions to the trading acrd game as part of a new Pokemon TCG: Scarlet & Violet Expansion.
Taking the theme of the most recent generational shift in the series, the big news here is an update to the Pokemon EX mechanics that were introduced in the card game a few years ago. In the past only “Basic” Pokemon – the first form in the evolution line – could be EX cards – but with the Scarlet & Violet expansion, that expands to Basic, Stage 1 or Stage 2 Pokemon.
Despite the headlines, the card we’re showing here today is a new base EX card, Iron shoes EX – This is of course based on the new Paradox Pokemon introduced in Scarlet & Violet on Switch. Take a look:
In addition to the EX system changes, fans can also look forward to the new Crimson and Violet expansion pack featuring Tera Pokemon for the first time.
The Pokemon Trading Card game gets several new expansions every year, though this one is based on the adventure described in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.
From March 31st, players will be able to acquire Scarlet & Violet sets in familiar form, including the “Elite Trainer Box” containing a large number of items, regular booster packs, and various stores (including the official Pokemon Center store) Other special releases.
