Nintendo Direct: Next issue in March – with a focus on one topic

Several showcases have already been announced this week, including a new PlayStation State of Play and a fresh edition of Pokémon Presents. Nintendo is now following up with a direct conference.

Nintendo has announced that the next Direct conference is already on the agenda for the new month of March. However, this is a slightly different edition than you might expect now, after all the focus isn’t on various upcoming Switch games, but essentially just one topic – and that’s not even a video game.

What is meant is the new Super Mario Bros. Movie, which will completely cover the new Direct issue thematically. This is also evident from a tweet announcing the next episode. There, the Japanese openly admit that there will be no game information.

Instead, the final trailer of the new cinema film will be shown on the new Direct; In addition, further film information should play a role, since one would probably not have announced a whole direct just for the trailer. The picture published by Nintendo at least suggests that Mario Kart should play a role in some way.

If you want to tune in, you should make a note of March 9, 2023; the Direct conference will then be broadcast at 11:00 p.m. German time.

The new Super Mario Bros. movie is slated to hit theaters April 17 in North America and April 28 in Japan. The broadcast was originally scheduled for December 21, 2022 before the strip was postponed again.

The new film was developed in cooperation with Illumination Entertainment. The animated flick was originally announced in 2018 after rumors had circulated beforehand. Above all, they focused on the fact that Chris Pratt (“Guardians of the Galaxy”, “Jurassic World”) is voicing Mario. Also starring is Jack Black as Bowser, Charlie Day as Luigi and Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong.
