Last night’s Sony State of Play showcased a new Street Fighter 6 trailer, showing off gameplay footage of Cammy, Zangief, and new character Lily.

It’s an excellent trailer featuring some highly anticipated characters. People have been desperate to see more of Cammy since last year’s leak, in which we got a glimpse of her Super. Zangief is also apparently a long-awaited reveal as the series’ main fighter character.

You can watch the new trailer for yourself here!

So let’s break it down! Zangief first wore the new pro wrestling outfit (probably because of their relationship with R Mika from Street Fighter 5). We see a mix of old and new moves: a couple of chain slaps and low kicks are introduced as new basic combinations. A classic SPD and an explosive Super Command grab also rounded out his part.

Lily is second in the trailer and she looks great! Part of the same tribe, this new fighter exudes plenty of T. Hawk vibes and packs wind power to make up for her small stature. Lily has a series of ranged normal attacks that she uses to combine into a powerful wind special attack, as well as an attack that looks like a command grab when it gets too close.

And finally there’s Cammy, who’s back with cropped hair and a sleek British jacket. Many of her classic gear return, including cannon strikes and spiral arrows, but she also appears to have new aerial special attacks as well as a neck-severing super skill inspired by classic Street Fighter movies. Worth the wait to see her official reveal, she looks special.

The trailer comes just days after news that the next Capcom Cup will be exclusive to Street Fighter 6, with $1,000,000 in prize money for whoever becomes world champion. It’s also coming to Evo 2023 later this year as a main-stage game, so it’s sure to be an exciting time for Street Fighter fans.

At the end of the day, this is an awesome trailer with plenty of content for fighting game fans to feast on and drool over. With Street Fighter VI launching on June 2nd, it won’t be long before we get the final version!
