Wii U eShop in the spotlight – Pushmo world

Countdown, eShop, features, Nintendo, Pushmo, Spotlight, Wii, Wii U eShop, World

Who made it?

Intelligent systems, which is perhaps the most famous development today Fire emblem series. The developer is a long-time collaborator with Nintendo, working on WarioWare series, Paper Mario series, Advanced Wars series… tons of stuff.

Pushmo World was developed in collaboration with Nintendo SPD (of Tomodachi Life and Rhythm Heaven fame).

What is the premise?

It’s more Pushmo! There are 250 brand new puzzles to get stuck into, and it’s the same good old Pushmo formula we’ve come to know and love over the years. This third game isn’t groundbreaking, but it capitalizes on what makes these games so great.

The GamePad can also be used to create your own levels, and back in the day Pushmo Fair allowed you to share those levels with the rest of the world. Sadly, with the end of Miiverse in 2017, that’s gone. But that doesn’t mean you can’t play and experiment.

There are some new blocks to push and pull in the Pushmo world. Some blocks now have a timer that will automatically return to the wall after a certain amount of time. There are color blocks that if you push one, all matching colors will also reflect his movements. And other blocks sometimes do the opposite of what you tell them to do.

Why should I play it?

Pushmo is probably one of our favorite puzzle series on the 3DS and Wii U. It’s just so enjoyable and colorful, and honestly, who doesn’t want more of that these days?

There’s no wrong place to start a series, but Pushmo World is a nice, shiny, HD expansion of the 3DS game. The two games make a nice pair, honestly– and we’ll probably feature them separately soon.

Plus, the puzzles are never too hard, but they do make you think a bit, so it’s a really nice balance.

How much is that?

$9.99 / £8.99 / $9.99, which you can’t possibly go wrong with. You could also get a 40% discount if you spend some Platinum Points on this I Nintendo rewards pagealso — it cannot be said more fairly than that.

We’ll be back soon with another 3DS or Wii U eShop recommendation as part this series ‘Countdown’. Let us know below if you already have this in your collection and share your thoughts. Also, feel free to nominate other games — we may feature them in the coming days.
