EA Is Asking Fans If They Would Like To Remake Dead Space 2 Or Dead Space 3

A recent survey from EA very strongly hints that it needs a remake dead space 2 and 3 – You just have to say you want them.

As of tomorrow (February 27), a full month has passed since the remake of “Dead Space” was released, and EA is already asking players how they feel about the second and third remakes. A survey sent out by EA earlier this week asked a few not-so-subtle questions: “Would you be interested in a similar Dead Space 2 remake?” Or “Dead Space 3”? For fans of the series, the obvious answer is yes, but remember, this is just a casual investigation, not a legally binding contract.

We don’t have exact sales figures for Dead Space Remastered just yet, but it was the number one boxed sale during launch week. On the other hand, it apparently sold less than half of what Callisto Protocol sold in its first week (an important comparison, considering the latter was led by the director of the original Dead Space, and both games very similar). Although it’s also important to note that Callisto Protocol launches in December, which is a peak season for game sales due to Christmas and is usually cheaper than the Dead Space remake, so there are a number of factors at play.

The biggest problem with Callisto Protocol is that it didn’t meet sales expectations in a big way, but we don’t know what to expect from Dead Space Remake. It’s entirely possible that the game will be what EA hopes it will be. Either way, it’s clear that it’s intent on further revitalizing the franchise, assuming everyone surveyed made it clear they wanted more games.

At ResetEra, some fans seemed ready to remake 2 and 3, with one saying they would “rather have a whole new game,” and other fans echoing similar sentiments. Others said they wanted remake developer Motive to try again with 3, a game generally considered the worst game in the trilogy. If a 3 remake does end up happening, it’s probably a long way off, so don’t save your money just yet.
