Dragon Age 4 is expected to be released soon, but it’s still unclear when. It might be the perfect time to restart the series with some remasters of old games, right?
Bioware has informed us the studio is currently working on the return of its two biggest franchises and new games are expected. In addition to Mass Effect 5, which was supposed to follow the legendary original trilogy, Dragon Age 4 will follow Inquisition, which was released in 2014.
If significant characters from the previous episode or even from the saga are expected, at the moment we don’t know much about the game. That doesn’t stop fans from waiting for this fourth work.
However, it’s been a while since the franchise has shown the tip of its nose, and while most hardcore fans are certainly unbeatable in the series, others may need a refresher, and newcomers may also want to experience the franchise before the arrival of Dragon Age 4 dire wolf. Maybe it’s time to ditch the remasters, right?
Do remasters for old games appeal to you?
It’s definitely the brainchild of David Gaider, the former founder of the Dragon Age saga, to whom we also have a lot to thank for being a huge contributor to the creation of the lore we all know now. In his opinion, Dragon Age Origins, the first of the franchise, would be the ideal candidate for a quality remaster.
Even if it means remastering old games, why not Dragon Age Origins? Its graphics were lagging behind even when it was released… Can you imagine that with the new possibilities of the PS5 era?
Dragon Age 4 Dreadwolf arrives
It’s hard to prove him wrong, since the game left its mark on a whole generation of RPG fans, but above all because Dragon Age Origins, while of course still playable on our old consoles and on PC, is technically very was late. . Whether in terms of graphics, animations or ergonomics in general. Concerns that the other games in the franchise will have afterward. So a decent nail polish wouldn’t be such a crazy idea. One could even imagine a compilation of the three main works of the franchise, as the title went mass effect with its Legendary Edition doing an honest job in terms of remastering. Not only would this be an opportunity to give fans something to wait for, but also to introduce the saga to younger gamers or the curious who might have missed it years ago. But as David Gaider points out, and as with the Dead Space Remake sequels, it’s up to EA to decide if it’s a good idea or not. In any case, the idea is made.
On his side, Dragon Age 4 dire wolf still hasn’t given us a release date. It is said that the game would not see the light of day until well over 2024. Same story for mass effect 5 which is to be expected even later.
And you, a return of the old Dragon Age shutters, will you try? Are you one of those who are eagerly awaiting the sequel?
