On today’s Pokemon Presents, The Pokemon Company announced pokemon scarlet and violet Will receive two pieces of DLC, due this year.
Like Pokémon Sword and Shield, the DLC expansion packs for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will be split into two parts collectively called Hidden Treasures of Zone Zero. The first installment, titled The Teal Mask, will be released this fall and takes you to a new area that appears to have a rather traditional Japanese vibe. The second installment, The Indigo Disk, seems to be more about learning, taking you to a new school.
In the first part of the DLC, you’ll visit a new location called Kitakami on a school trip and will be shown a new Legendary Pokemon that appears to be mask-themed. The key art for this part shows a couple of new characters, a boy and a girl, and three other pokemon, a cat, a bird, I honestly don’t know what the last one is, but they’re all colors coded into the three main launcher types, so maybe that’s the intent behind them.
The second part also sees you traveling as an exchange student at Blueberry Academy. Not quite sure what you’ll be doing here, but judging by the trailer, it’s going to be more combat oriented. You’ll also meet another legendary Pokémon that looks like some kind of turtle with various different types of images on its back. According to the names of the two parts (Hidden Treasures of Sector Zero), it is related to the ending part of the base game.
Each part will also re-introduce some Pokémon that weren’t in the base game, such as Milotic and Ninetales from part one, and Metagross and Seel from part two. A Pokemon Home feature has also been confirmed for early 2023, along with a connection to Pokemon GO, so you’ll be able to get those Gimmighoul soon.
Also shown are new Paradox Pokemon that will be added as Tera Raids: Walking Wake, a water/dragon type Pokemon apparently based on Suicune for Pokemon Scarlet, and Iron Leaves, a grass/psychic type , apparently based on Pokemon Violet’s Virizion.
