Google will introduce the Pixel 7a and a Pixel Fold later this year. However, a leak from the authorities now raises a mystery as to how many models are in the starting blocks.
- Google will introduce several more devices th is year.
- Now there are traces of a new model from documents from the FCC authority.
- It is a model in three variants.
Google has submitted a new device to the FCC for testing. The initial suspicion that it could be the Pixel 7a could turn out to be wrong. Because according to the documents, the gadget presented should appear in three unusual variants.
FCC ID: A4RG0DZQ (parent model for NFC), FCC ID: A4RGWKK3 (parent model for BT/WLAN) and FCC ID: A4RGHL1X (variant model) use the same identical internal printed circu it board layouts, while the variant models depopulates mmWave related components and populated a different MHB ENDC module, details are available in the operational description.
Leaked FCC document
How Gizmochina reported that three devices were registered under the model number 28291FQHN. The report speculates that it is the 7a, as that number previously appeared in a video leak of the smartphone. The recorded variants are registered under the identification numbers A4RG0DZQ, A4RGWKK3 and A4RGHL1X.
Neither Pixel 7a nor Pixel Fold
The models differ significantly based on the connection standards. In turn, they only have NFC, only Bluetooth and WLAN, as well as a variant that will probably be equipped with 5G via the MHB ENDC module. On the one hand, three models for an A model would be a novelty, after all, Google recently only released models like the Pixel 6a as a single variant.
On the other hand, it is questionable why Google should present three variants of the same model with such different communication channels. However, it may well be that it is not a mobile phone, but the expected Pixel Tablet.
Here, for example, the docking station could be equipped with an NFC connection and one tablet each could be equipped with WLAN and also with mobile Internet. Unfortunately, there are currently no further indications. So we can only wait and see what Google will present to us in the summer.
