News JVTech Apple: A “low-cost” iPhone with OLED display and 5G chip? It becomes clearer
2023 could be the year of all surprises for Apple! Rumors about the mixed reality headset and the Apple Car have surged in recent months, and yet the biggest surprise might come from the announcement of a new affordable iPhone.
iPhone: a rumor that pleases the wallet
Famed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is often correct in his predictions about Apple products, and the last one concerns an old forgotten apple: l’iPhone SE
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, The new model will have a design similar to the iPhone 14. It should therefore be displayed a beautiful 6.1-inch OLED screen. Small point that matters, the new “affordable” iPhone should also have slightly thicker bezels than those of the iPhone 14. So many changes for this new iteration of a product that we left in 2022 that reused the design of the iPhone 8 – with a 4.7 inch screen.
Apple doesn’t want to be helped for its new iPhone SE!
Among other notable changes The analyst also indicates that one of the novelties could be the inclusion of the 5G modem made by Apple – which have 5G connectivity, but only in the “sub-6 GHz” bands. As a reminder, recent iPhones already have 5G connectivity thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon X57 chip. which Apple will gradually abandon to do everything alone.

This modification of the 5G modem therefore seems to anticipate the introduction of similar measures for future iPhones and iPads. as you probably know Apple has been trying to control all (or almost) the hardware of its devices for years
No release date has been announced at the moment. Even Ming-Chi Kuo couldn’t find any information about it! All the same, and if we got used to this article MacRumors, the new iPhone SE will probably not be launched before March 2024, a date more in line with the pace Apple has followed on previous models. As a reminder, the first iPhone SE was released in 2016, the second in 2020, the last in 2022 and the next one could therefore logically land in 2024. Sequel follows…
