Before you start touching the monitoring parameters with the Windows 10 calibration tool, it may be best to restore the track to factory settings (if not the new track you just purchased, of course).
How to access the measurement tool
From the desktop, right-click on any empty space and click on "Display Settings".
In the window that opens we have to go down completely and select the option «Advanced screen settings».
Another window opens. In it, click on «Display display adapter properties». Depending on your version of Windows, you may have the option to access color rating options from here.
In the window that opens, go to the "Color Management" tab and click the only button you will find.
After doing this, we have opened a "Management Management" tool that will allow us to do the basic simulation we mentioned earlier.
How to balance monitoring
The first thing to do, on the first tab, is select the device (in this case the monitor, obviously).
When we go to the second tab, "All profiles", we can add and delete profiles (which we can download from the Internet, such as the manufacturer's page, though if you search by profile based on your monitoring model it is likely that you will find many of the remaining profiles, which are for profit).
And if we go to the third tab, Advanced Options, we'll find what we're looking for. Here we can assign specific profiles (which we have in the previous tab) to different locations, a very useful feature, but what we want here is theCount the screen«.
Clicking the button will open up a type of assistant (because it goes through several steps by clicking Next) that will remain on the entire screen. We've made it small enough to take screenshots, but ideally, we take the whole screen to be able to make the measurement look right.
The first thing we will be able to fix is Gamma, and we should follow the instructions on the screen. The main difference between this measuring tool and others is that Here we can change the levels directly on Windows, without affecting the handheld settings.
The same goes for light, contrast and color correction. In every case the system gives us directions to follow and, with some slides we can move with the mouse, we simply adapt it to the values we consider to be the appropriate level.
Also, do not be afraid to adjust these values and do not like the result, as it will eventually allow us to confirm the changes made or return to the previous estimate.
You can see that with Windows 10's internal monitoring tool, it's all very easy and we can do it with just a few mouse clicks.
What is the purpose of comparing monitoring?
Doing this process at least once (it's best to just create a new track) will allow us to see a realistic picture of the colors, and often enhance the viewing experience.
In addition, if you are going to dedicate yourself to a photo or video editing, it is important to see all the necessary details.
