While we continue to wait for the release of the shooter sequel STALKER 2 – Heart of Chornobyl, the next installment of the series has now been announced – in an unusual form!
In addition to the upcoming sequel STALKER 2 – Heart of Chornobyl, the shooter series STALKER is getting another spin-off that is not a video game. Rather, the men from GSC Game World are now teaming up with Awaken Realms to announce a board game for the series as part of the new partnership. The most popular video game series from Ukraine is set to make the tabletop leap thanks to a crowdfunding campaign.
Just that campaign for financing is not via the popular Kickstarter but via Gamefound.com settled; the starting signal for this should be given in the second quarter of 2023.
The new board game is designed for one to four players, with each player controlling a character. The game is then not played against, but with each other: in the story-based game range “zone-crawling”. Individual actions from the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone are re-enacted, which, according to the creators, should be full of suspense.
Each of these storylines consists of two to four scenarios that need to be mastered. Each scenario should offer around two hours of playtime. Each Stalker character you can choose has gear and skills that you can upgrade between scenarios. This should result in possible variations, which should also ensure different scenario processes and a high replayability value. In addition to stealth missions, there are also tactical firefights, rescue missions, artifact hunting and more. Of course, dangerous anomalies and mutants also await you.
Awaken Realms is no stranger to the board game industry and stands for high quality standards. You can also see what this should look like in the case of the board game for STALKER in the following trailer.
