Trails & Tales updates will be posted to my world Later in the year, Mojang announced the players.
Formerly known as Update 1.20, it’s about “self-expression through performance, storytelling, and worldbuilding.”
You can already try the Trails & Tales feature in Bedrock beta, preview, and Java snapshots. You can use the sniffer to sniff for seeds, trim armor, do archaeology, run around the sakura biome, ride camels, hang signs, organize bookshelves, craft with bamboo, and more.
All features currently in snapshots, betas, and previews are early releases, and the studio wants to get as much player feedback as possible.
Here’s more information on some of the features of the Trails & Takes update for Minecraft:
- camel: Friendly new camel mobs found in desert villages, and cannot be ridden by one player at a time, but can be ridden by two players at a time. They can also be very lively, and the rider is protected from hostile mobs while perched on their high humps, making camels ideal for long journeys across the world.
- Bamboo set: Like other wood types, you can craft things like slabs and stairs, but bamboo also gives you mosaic blocks, great for flooring and making lovely rafts.
- chiseled bookshelf: Got a lot of books and need a place to display them? You can build your own chiseled bookshelf to store books so you can keep all your stories safe and sound.
- tag: Hanging signs can be crafted from any type of wood and arranged in all sorts of cool ways with custom text to add that extra touch to your plinths and builds. Place them under or on the side of the cube for a finishing touch!
- armor decoration: You can customize your armor with new armor decorations! Armor trims come in a variety of patterns, and you can find them in the Minecraft world as smithing templates.
- New Creature Head Feature: This update also adds a brand new mob head for players to collect – the piglin head! Players can wear it or power it with redstone to make the ear wiggle. Additionally, mob heads placed on top of note blocks will now play the corresponding mob’s sound effects!
- archeology: The new archeology system has several components, introducing new craftable tools (brushes) and new blocks (suspicious sand and decorative pots), as well as changes to desert temples and water wells.
- sniffer: The Sniffer is an ancient creature found in eggs unearthed from suspicious sands. They hatch into baby “slugs” which, once grown, help you find seeds of ancient plants, such as torchflowers, which can add some prehistoric splendor to your world!
- Sakura biome and wood set: Are you ready for Minecraft 1.20 to bring the rare and most important pink biome to the main world! ? The beautiful Cherry Blossom biome is filled with Cherry Blossom trees, bringing a unique vista to the horizon. Cherry trees can be disassembled into full wood assemblies, and you can also find sakura saplings so you can plant them anywhere.
