Netflix announced that an important character in season two of The Witcher is now cast: The Danish actor Kim Bodnia plays Geralt's mentor Vesemir, Bodnia is best known to fans of black humor because of the role of Harald in the action comedy In China they eat dogs.
It is also clear that Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill will not appear as Vesemir in Netflix 'The Witcher. Hamill had brought himself into play by expressing interest in the role on Twitter. Fans were hopeful that it could work because the role of Vesemir remained unoccupied until the end.
The rest of the cast of season two, The Witcher, has already been decided. These include Paul Bullion from Peaky Blinders as Lambert and Kristofer Hivju from Game of Thrones as Nivellen. Unlike in season 1, Geralt won't be the only sorcerer the story is about. With Coen and Lambert, other representatives of the bloody guild will appear in the series.
Fans react positively
As expected, the reactions of the fans are mixed, but mostly positive. Mark Hamill would have found some viewers better than Vesemir, while others praised the choice of Kim Bodnia as a good decision. And some would have liked both.

"I mean, I would have been part of the hype surrounding Mark Hamill, but damn it, Kim Bodnia. It's a top choice."

Fans will have to be patient until Season 2 of The Witcher starts on Netflix. The release is for Early 2021 scheduled.
In the meantime, you could do the same for numerous players and catch up with The Witcher 3. At the start of series production, sales of the third witcher game increased by a whopping 550 percent. This contributes to CD Projekt's rise to Europe's second largest game publisher.
