Welcome, everyone!

It’s been another pretty busy week here at Nintendo LIFE. We started with The Pokémon Presents showcase which, according to you good people, was not so good. The biggest highlight was undoubtedly the announcement of the Scarlet and Violet DLC, which will come in two parts and is officially called ‘The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero’.

By the way, we finally got confirmation that Pokémon Sleep still exists and will launch later this year. Netflix also announced that it is working with The Pokémon Company on a new stop motion project called Pokemon janitorwhich certainly sounds interesting.

Nintendo also announced their plans around this year’s ‘MAR10 Day’ celebrations, including a rather underwhelming new Switch Console bundle, some tasty Mario-related sales and the news that Movie Super Mario Bros the release was moved two days in advance in several global markets.

For now, it’s time to kick back and relax – it’s the weekend! We want to know what your gaming plans are, so be sure to let us know in the comments. But first, let’s find out what the staff is up to…

I’m really hoping to get a good chunk of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword cleared up this week. Is it top tier Zelda in my opinion? No way. But this time I’m having more fun with him, which is always a bonus.

It would also be nice to finally get on board and finish Super Metroid on NSO before Metroid Fusion drops next week. I had an absolute blast playing this game, but I stumbled at the last hurdle with the release of Fire Emblem Engage. If I just sneak in a few more hours this weekend then I might be able to sort it out….

I currently have a few games on the go for review purposes (look out for those in the coming days!), so I’m not into many other games right now.

However, when I find a few minutes of free time, I’m currently jumping into Sonic Origins to play through one stage at a time. It’s a great compilation to play in short bursts and I really hope Sega brings some more classic Sonic titles to the Switch in a similar fashion.

BROK the InvestiGator’s unique combination of point’n’clik and belt’em action proved to be very tempting. Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe remains a great reminder that the original Wii game was top shelf Kirby things. I didn’t expect a hidden edition of Neodori forever, but I was happy to grab it quickly; it’s such a relaxing, zen game. I hope to make some more progress Xenogars also.

Game of the week is Arcade Archives SKY KID DX! Since the original game is one of my all-time favorites, this deluxe edition boasts twice the color palette (512 vs. the original’s 256), new enemies, more challenging stages, extra missions… everything that made the original game sweet, it just got sweeter!

We hope you enjoyed reading! Let us know which game you’ll be headlining in the poll above, and leave a comment with your weekend gaming plans!
