The second season of Prehistoric Planet will have five episodes

Apple TV+ promises a year full of news and content for all tastes. In recent weeks, the streaming service shared the release date for new seasons of several of its programs, such as the third season of the hit series Ted Lasso and more recently, it confirmed the premiere of the second season of Prehistoric Planet.

The documentary narrated by Sir David Attenborough exploring ancient Earth will premiere five episodes on May 22, 2023. According to a statement shared by the company, the new season promises to take millions of years into the past to discover our world and the dinosaurs that inhabited it, all in extraordinary detail.

A tribute to nature

The second season of Prehistoric Planet will focus on new dinosaurs, new habitats and new scientific discoveries, as it takes viewers around the world on an epic five-night adventure. Featuring new dinosaurs like Tarchia, one of the largest ankylosaurs, fan favorites like Tyrannosaurus rex, and many more.

The show, led by executive producers Jon Favreau and Mike Gunton, and the BBC Studios Natural History Unit, has already won recognition from the public and specialized critics.

Last year he was recognized with the Television Critics Association Awards, Visual Effects Society Awards, Annie Awards, Hollywood Music in Media Awards and Cinema Eye Honors Awards, among others. All thanks to episodes that brought the dinosaurs back to life in a truly impressive way.
