Cities: Skylines II: City-Building Sequel Finally Officially Announced!

The numerous fans of Cities: Skylines had to wait a long time, but now the time has finally come: The long-awaited sequel Cities: Skylines II was officially announced today – and is even coming this year!

As part of its own showcase, Paradox Interactive and Colossal Order finally officially announced the long-awaited sequel Cities: Skylines II tonight. Of course, this is the sequel to the successful city building simulation Cities: Skylines.

The sequel aims to up the ante in terms of realism and allow you to build any type of city that you can imagine. You have to take care of individual households as well as the economy and the transport system of the city. At the same time, the sequel should not overwhelm new players; rather, the successor should be aimed at both newcomers and experienced gamers.

In addition to the city’s fully realized transportation and economic systems, there is also a wealth of building and customization options new to the game. In addition, they want to provide advanced modding functions for the players. More details on individual features will follow at a later date.

The first Cities: Skylines was released for PC in 2015 and has sold over 12 million copies eight years later. Since then there have also been new implementations for other platforms and dozens of DLC packages.

Cities: Skylines II is scheduled for release in 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S; a more concrete release date has not yet been announced.
