Diablo IV beta is coming soon. Of course, Blizzard insists on pointing out the test phase with an extensive advertising campaign. This time the studio has come up with something new and decorated a French church with demonic artwork.
Usually in churches one finds drawings of saints. Blizzard thought that was far too boring and came up with an idea of its own: why not just decorate the church with demonic motifs and grimaces? They have teamed up with Baroque-inspired artist Adam Miller.

Before you now strive for an inquisition, the building was secularized, that is, detached from the institution of the church. In addition, these are not paintings on the ceiling, instead a canvas was painted and then attached to the ceiling of the former house of faith. It is over 50 meters long and contains 20 individual works of art.
Miller is enthusiastic about the campaign: “This is a very unique project. It’s a wonderful opportunity to do representational painting on such a scale in such a setting.” He names Caravaggio and Michelangelo, for example, as models for these drawings.
Of course, the whole campaign wasn’t carried out for fun, but to promote the Diablo IV Open Beta. This will take place in two phases: from March 17th to 19th and from March 24th to 26th. You can inspect the ornate church in more detail in a live-action video. Henry Hobson (Maggie) directed this, by the way, and actor Charles Dance (Game of Thrones) lends his voice as narrator.
But the real hammer is: You can become part of the work of art yourself. If you reach the maximum level with your hero in the open beta and, with a bit of luck, are selected, you will soon find yourself on the ceiling of the Chapelle des Jesuits. To do this, you must first register on the official website. As a special treat, you’ll even get a video of Miller drawing you.
