A new press release from HBO announces that The Last of Us Episode 8 reached a total of 8.1 million viewers live across platforms as of Sunday night. Compared to the pilot episode of The Last of Us, which aired in mid-January and garnered 4.7 million viewers, that’s one increase of 74 percent.
The Last of Us has also ranked unchallenged on the streaming platform HBO Max since its release eight weeks ago first place in the most watched series.

The next episode of The Last of Us will initially also be the last: Episode 9 marks the finale of the first season.
