Next weekend it’s raining experience points again in Call of Duty. The developers note the double XP event in the official Trello-Board. Wer from March 10th to 13th, 2023 CoD Warzone 2 or Modern Warfare 2, the full package gets extra XP.
That means double experience points for player level, weapon progression and Battle Pass
With actions like this, the developers and publishers hope not only to reward the still active users, but also to lure the lost sheep back into the herd. After all, the new Call of Duty has already lost a large part of its audience.

Player numbers stable, but…
The fans celebrated when the direct successor to the strong CoD Modern Warfare from 2019 appeared four years later, even on Steam. Almost half a million simultaneously active players gathered there for the release. A great success, at least for now.
The number of players fell just as quickly, there was a lot of criticism of the unfinished release status, especially of CoD Warzone 2, although urgently needed improvements have now come with Season 2:
A free weekend in December on Steam didn’t really want to trigger any measurable increases. Many players have still turned their backs on CoD MW2 and Warzone 2.
At least the Steam user numbers have been relatively stable at around 100,000 since the New Year. It will be interesting to see if the XP event can provide a boost.
