Nintendo’s OLED Switch is $50 for Sam’s Club members

Club, members, Nintendos, OLED, Sams, Switch

If you want a Switch OLED, you typically have to pay $349.99 — $50 more than the standard Switch. This isn’t currently the case for Sam’s Club members, who can get one along with a whole mess of free accessories for $299.99 by selecting “pick up‘ before adding one to your cart.

In addition to the console, which includes two white Joy-Cons, this bundle includes a 256GB SanDisk MicroSD card, a PDP Faceoff Deluxe Plus wired controller (with a headphone jack for wired listening), the LVL40 wired gaming headset from PDP and the Mario Commuter Case to carry everything. All of this normally costs $439.98, but you save $140.

At Sam’s Club, the Switch OLED (white) includes four accessories: a wired controller, a wired headset, a 256GB microSD card, and a commuter case.

A Membership in Sam’s Club costs $50 per year for the Club tier or $110 per year for the Plus tier, which offers more perks including free shipping. Shipping cost for club tier members is $4 which is not bad.

What sets the Switch OLED apart from the standard Switch: It’s mostly the display that matters, although there are other benefits. It sports a 7-inch OLED 720p display that has far higher contrast and color accuracy than the standard Switch’s 6.2-inch LCD panel. The Switch OLED also benefits from twice the onboard storage (64GB vs 32GB), smaller bezels around the display, improved speakers, and a far better stand. In terms of performance, however, it is identical to other Switch consoles. One last perk, the dock has a built-in Ethernet port for wired connectivity, so you can get much faster download speeds and online performance without additional accessories.

I became aware of this deal Wario64‘s Twitter account, and the timing is great as today is Mario Day, a time when Nintendo and many retailers discount almost anything with the word “Mario” in its name. Sam’s Club says this deal will last until April 9, but it might be best to take advantage of it sooner or later if dwindling stocks prompt the retailer to rip up the offer.
