Capcom held a showcase last night, also tapping into the approaching Resident Evil 4 Remake. You can now try this out for yourself before the actual release.
In the run-up to the nightly event, there was speculation online that Capcom might release a playable trial version of the upcoming Resident Evil 4 remake – and that’s exactly what happened in the end. As part of the showcase, they announced the title’s Chainsaw demo, which you can grab now.
Game Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi made the announcement personally. Accordingly, the preview demo is now available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Windows PC platforms. In contrast to Resident Evil demos recently, there is fortunately no time limit this time; so you can download and play the trial version as many times as you want.
The demo picks up part of Resident Evil 4’s opening sequence where Leon S. Kennedy encounters a mob of infected villagers. It is said to be a specially adapted version of this sequence.
Resident Evil 4: Remake will be available on March 24, 2023 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S and PC. In addition to the Standard Edition, the title is also available as a Digital Deluxe Edition. This version features additional game content including costumes, weapons, a treasure map and more.
Standard Edition pre-orders will receive in-game rewards including the Golden Briefcase and Talisman: Pistol Ammo content, while Deluxe Edition pre-orders will also receive Classic Briefcase and Green Herb Talisman. These items provide specific in-game abilities when equipped.
