With Exoprimal, Capcom wants to rekindle some Dino Crisis vibes – and now it’s clear when that will happen. But before the release takes place in the summer, there will soon be an open beta test phase.
As part of its own showcase, Capcom has now officially confirmed that the dinosaur action game Exoprimal will be available from July 14, 2023. The summer release of the title will then take place equally on the Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 platforms.
Xbox Game Pass holders have two reasons to be happy: From the release date, the team-based online action game will be available as part of the subscription service at no additional cost on PC, Xbox and via the cloud.
But it gets even better: you’ll have the opportunity to see the title for yourself much earlier – because an open beta test phase will take place in a week’s time. The starting signal will be on March 17th at 1:00 a.m., after which it will be possible to gamble on all supported platforms until Monday, March 20th at 0:59 a.m.
Cross-play matchmaking is already being tested as part of the open beta, so you can form Exofighter squads with friends on other platforms and get started. All 10 of the game’s exosuits are already on board – and those who participate in the beta will secure an Aibius medal pendant for the final game, with which you can then equip your exosuits there.
Ten Exosuits? That’s right, because two of them were also newly introduced, namely Warrior and Nimbus. Each model has unique powers to support allies on the battlefield. Warrior has a heavy arsenal to stop enemies in their tracks. This bulky tank-type exosuit features heavy artillery to protect the team with firepower. Nimbus is a highly mobile Support-type Exosuit. This rolling pistol shooter can charge into battle with guns blazing, or weave through swarms of dinosaurs to heal injured teammates. New opponents introduced were the armored Stegosaurus, the winged Sinornithosaurs, and the mutated variants Stealth Neosaurus and Cryo Neosauras.
Exoprimal is available for pre-order now and includes three Exosuit skins as a special bonus. In addition to the Standard Edition, a Digital Deluxe Edition is also available, which includes the “Jump Start Kit” and the “Survival Pass (Season 1): Premium Rank” as a time-limited bonus.
The “Jump Start Kit” includes three more Exosuit skins and early unlocks for Nimbus, Vigilant, and Murasame. These Exosuits can also be unlocked by playing the Standard Edition. The Survival Pass rewards you for your game progress and has both a Free and a Premium rank. Season 1 Premium Rank offers an additional 19 Exosuit Skins, 10 Weapon Skins, 4 Emotes, 3 Stickers and more.
