Europe / North America
The western design for Mega Man X2 is very action-oriented. It shows X himself zooming by in his Ride Chaser, while the Magna Centipede looks suitably menacing in the background. You can also see a few other Mavericks and standard enemies further in the background, but why does X seem to be running far of them, we don’t know. You should fight them! Anyway, this is a really nice composition and it reflects the opening scene of the game quite well. Man, we wish Ride Chaser would show up more often…
Japan
The Japanese design is incredibly attractive and uses portrait orientation to great effect. Here you have literally all Mavericks in full view with the X front and center. You can even see Sigma looming in the distance! We would say that maybe the composition is a bit overcrowded, overall, but there is no denying that it is a beautiful work of art.
