Teeth, steel and explosions as far as the eye can see: Exoprimal has a release date
What is exoprimal anyway? The name Exoprimal is made up of the two central elements of the game: Exo-Suits and Primal as the English word for primeval. The latter are self-explanatory, they are hordes of enemies that appear en masse – literally – falling from the sky.
It doesn’t matter whether it’s raptors, T-Rex or other creatures from bygone eras, they all want to bite you out of the mechanic trains, hit you, trample them or put an end to your resistance in some other way. To make matters worse, other squads also want to get at you in PvP (or metal).
On a mission in mech suits
The suits can be assigned to three different classes: attack, tank and support. The game will feature different game modes.
This also includes variants in which only the opposing team has to be fought – there is no rain of dinosaurs. The main game modes against Dindos are divided as follows:
- Dinosaur Cull – A certain type of dino must be fought
- VTOL Defense – Teams must defend a crashed aircraft
- Data Key Security – A valuable object must be escorted to a destination
- Omega Charge – Teams must use a super weapon to kill a specific dino
- Energy Taker – A bet collecting energy. Whoever has the most after a certain time wins.
The game’s story is told through cutscenes that are unlocked by defeating battles in Dino-Survival.
You can read in his preview of Exoprimal why GameStar editor Vali was impressed, but also couldn’t hide a few worry lines.
Exoprimal will also have a Battlepass with cosmetic rewards. Incidentally, the RE graphics engine, which was originally designed for Resident Evil 7 in 2014 and is also used in other Capcom titles such as Monster Hunter Rise, is used as the technical framework.
Are you going to try Exoprimal during the beta or are you already determined to play it for release? Tell us in the comments!
