The newest Pokémon Journeys: The Series The episode aired in Japan this Friday and has fans panicking. The anime is in its final season and fans were hoping that the latest episode would provide a satisfying conclusion to Team Rocket’s story – but it was quite the opposite. Even Team Rocket haters think the villain team deserves better.
After 25 years, Ash and Pikachu’s journey finally comes to an end. This is the final season with the infamous duo, and they finally became champions recently after defeating Galar champion Leon. There are only 11 episodes left to take care of all their loose ends, which is why people are upset that Team Rocket seems to have parted ways for good. The sudden decision came as a huge shock to fans who had watched the trio in over 1,000 episodes. But it happened.
In the ninth episode From the final Aim To Be A Pokémon Master arc, the villainous Team Rocket trio are reunited with their old Pokémon from previous seasons. They decide to do their best to catch Pikachu, which they haven’t been able to do since their first appearance in 1997. They put up a decent fight. but unfortunately her opponent was the literal Pokémon champion of the whole world.
Look, I know they should aim lower. Pikachu isn’t even that good of a Pokemon. But you have to give Team Rocket credit for being the most tenacious characters in the entire series. They stuck to their goal for over a thousand episodes. If anyone deserves to steal Pikachu, it’s this trio. Unfortunately, even with the combined forces of their old partners, they fail. The Legendary Pokémon Latias intervenes and they are “shot down” somewhere else. The three argue and decide to end the team.

Fans aren’t thrilled about it. Although Jessie, James, and Meowth are the villains of the anime, their popularity helped make it so successful. “This is the supposed final [Team Rocket] Consequence,” wrote a fan. “It’s like a band disbanding out of nowhere in the middle of a concert and on bad terms.” If Team Rocket broke up in the middle of a long season, fans might expect they could get back together. But since the plot focuses on the legendary Pokémon Latias and Team Rocket’s final mission, which ends in disastrous failure, it might be asking a lot to ask for a reunion when only two episodes remain. They are fans anyway get over
Others aren’t optimistic but believe Team Rocket earned better after their years of service. Over the course of several years, it became apparent that the three were like an awkwardly found family. Each of them came from complicated backgrounds, but they found a common goal in kidnapping Pikachu, leaving many fans feeling their bond extended beyond their membership in Team Rocket. “Team Rocket not only disbanded as a group, but left all of their Pokémon behind?” shouted a fan. “That sucks?”
The final episodes of Aim To Be A Pokémon Master will air in Japan on March 17th and 24th respectively.
