Hardly any other first-person shooter is as plagued by cheaters as Escape from Tarkov. Although BattlEye should actually ensure that hackers are recognized and developer Battlestate Games repeatedly pillories masses of fraudsters, the negative reports don’t stop.
A YouTuber recently calculated that hackers in up to 60 percent of the games occur. And that same content creator called g0at
made a particularly bold attempt to shed light on the undergrowth of the cheater jungle. In doing so, he discovered something completely unexpected.
Vanguard intolerant of cheaters
Daring and, above all, controversial, g0at’s attempt was because he himself used cheats in Escape from Tarkov to expose other hackers. Eventually he was banned, but only after a long unrecognized period, as he claims in his video:

In consultation with a cheat developer, he then received an answer that he had not expected. He should Riot Games anti-cheat programVanguard (for Valorant), before using the cheats for Escape from Tarkov.
Vanguard should be able to recognize the cheats. The new anti-cheat system was created specifically for the multiplayer shooter Valorant and penetrates deep into players’ systems to localize fraudulent software at the kernel level of the operating system. There was and is a lot of criticism for this.
We were not aware of any reports that Vanguard can also disable cheats for other games.
We spoke to the developer behind Vanguard in an interview when it came to the questions of whether and to what extent AI-supported cheats threaten our favorite hobby:
What we also learned: The efficiency of an anti-cheat program does not necessarily depend on the software used, but often on the configuration. In the report above, anonymous cheat developers report that even the popular Easy Anti-Cheat is more or less capable of detecting hacks, depending on how aggressive and resourceful the game developers are.
