Halo: PC Edition of Combat Evolution will be the next version of the Halo game Bungie on Steam. The final issue of the PC is Halo Reach, which was released in December 2019 as part of the Halo: The Master Chief Collection (MCC) bundle.
According to TrueAchievements, a new list of MCCs has recently appeared in the Microsoft Store. Obviously, Xbox Game Pass holders can already choose to install Halo: CE, although the report states that so far this has only resulted in download errors.
As for the listing itself, the details are still relatively few. Except for some general notes on how games are launched chronologically (obviously) and how the collection will contain more than 120 multiplayer maps (if you want to count the number of maps for each of the six games from Reach to Halo , Which is also obvious) 4, but much less if you are not bothered). There are also some screenshots.
However, new features unique to MCC have recently appeared. According to a blog post from 343 Studios, the studio recently brought us MCC on a PC and re-implemented the original Halo: CE audio design, which means players can choose between old and reworked sounds.
The blog post reads: "We are pleased to announce that we are making a final effort to bring the classic Halo: CE multiplayer game sound to Halo: CE PC." "The initial gaming test feedback was that players are happy to have raw audio , Which brings the overall Halo: CE multiplayer closer to the way we all remembered on the original Xbox. "
"For those who want to use anniversary sounds in MPs, our February flight already includes a switch between classic and anniversary sounds and will be available when the title is released."
The post also states that 343 is investigating the community's requirements for other original features to "close the gap between (original and new) experiences".
At present, the release date of Halo: Combat Evolution on the PC is unclear, but from the recent developments, we are likely to release an announcement soon.
In other Halo news, Halo: Infinite will be included in Microsoft's new Smart Delivery service, which means that players who purchase the game on Xbox One will automatically get Xbox Series X games for free.
