If Microsoft introduced its AI in its office suite with Copilot as its best weapon, it has now just presented a big novelty for Bing and Microsoft Edge: the incorporation of image generation based on artificial intelligence with Bing Image Creator.

Bing now generates images with AI
Bing and Microsoft Edge were updated last month with ChatGPT’s generative AI for a full web search assistant, full answers, a new chat experience and the ability to generate content.
With 100 million chats to date, Microsoft, based on user feedback, has reviewed the use of its new addition in every possible way, whether to better chain a response to a complex question or simply to draw inspiration from it.
Announced on their blog, they are now taking Bing to another level by making it more visual with Bing Image Creator, giving users the ability to create AI image-based stories and updated knowledge maps for new Bing and edge.
This advanced version is based on the Model DALL-E of its partners in OpenAI. Basically what Bing Image Creator does is create images from the same words you enter that describe the one you want to generate.
Visual and textual content with Bing
In short, you can now generate written and visual content from the same Bing chat. In this way, Microsoft approaches people who can better process visual information. 60,000 times faster only in the text.
According to feedback gathered by Microsoft, images are one of the most searched categories and until now image search results have been limited to those already existing on the web. From now on, there are no more limits, as specified by Microsoft to improve the search experience.
Bing Image Creator has been fully integrated into the Bing chat experience with a first phase anchored in a creative mode. By describing an image to be generated, providing additional context such as an activity or location, and choosing a style for the image design, Image Creator will create one from the user’s own imagination.
Midjourney, already in its version five, is the best example of AI that generates images from text entered by the user. And there we can continue with them so that our ability to describe said image allows this model to generate it more easily and therefore to be as precise as possible.
Also in Edge browser and with watermark
Microsoft also wanted to make it clear that Bing Image Creator will be available in your web browser, making it the first and only with this powerful AI-based image generator.
Everything will be as simple as clicking on the Bing Image Creator icon in the sidebar to create one or just from the same Bing chat in Edge. They also dropped a few words referring to the responsibility of deploying a system of this nature which could generate unexpected images.
They worked with OpenAI to create an experience that emphasizes responsible use of Image Creator. In other words, the generation of images that could injure the user somehow.
What caught our eye was that Microsoft included a watermark in the bottom left corner to label the image as AI-generated; Take the case of China, which in December last year imposed a requirement to include an icon or watermark so anyone would know they were looking at an AI-generated image.
you can try it now
Of course, Microsoft’s intention is to roll out Bing Image Creator in phases to receive the necessary feedback and start rolling it out to more countries. It will start today in Bing Chat on both the desktop and mobile app.
Actually, if you want to try you can come Go to bing.com/create to get started, although it’s only available in English at this time. You also have the option to subscribe to be aware of its availability in other languages from here.
Quite an arrival with Bing Image Creator to generate better experiences and make things more difficult for Google, which has just launched Bard, its ChatGPT-like AI, in two countries.
