The idea we had in mind was a compact system, with good features and a reasonable price. Among all the options seen, we chose this MinisForum system. We are talking about a fairly well-known brand in the Mini PC market with an interesting offer and powerful solutions. This MinisForum UM350 Ryzen 5 computer costs 303.94 dollars, which represents a discount of 30%.
This system is based on the AMD Ryzen 5 3550H processor, which despite its “old” remains an excellent processor. This one has 4 cores and 8 threads, running at a base frequency of 2.1 GHz and reaching 3.7 GHz in Boost mode. It includes this AMD Radeon Vega 8 graphics processor, which will allow us to move games like CS : GO, Dota 2, LoL etc.
This system has an M.2 2280 slot for SSD drives of this format and also a SATA connector for 2.5-inch drives. It incorporates two DDR4 SODIMM RAM memory slots for a maximum of 32 GB, which is a lot. Despite the fact that this system already has an option with memory and storage installed, we have chosen to acquire it separately, since we can get something better and cheaper.
When it comes to connectivity, this compact computer is pretty well powered. It has a USB 3.1 Gen1, a USB 3.1 Gen2, a USB-C and a headphone jack on the front. Meanwhile, on the back, it has two USB 3.1 Gen2 ports, one HDMI, one DisplayPort and one 2.5G Ethernet port. Moreover, it offers WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity.
As we can see, it is a very complete system of very good quality, with a compact design and a very reasonable price.
2×8 GB Fury Impact RAM memory
We decided to choose the Mini PC without memory or storage to save money and have better solutions. Of all the options available, these Fury Impact briefs offer good value for money. This Fury Impact 2×8 GB memory kit costs 51.16 dollars, which represents a discount of 38%.
NOTE: Before we continue talking about these memorabilia, we must warn that these are not Kingston memorabilia. Although the design and letters of “Fury Impact” match, they are not original. We know this because Kingston’s name does not appear on the “Fury”.
In this case we have a kit of two DDR4 RAM memory modules in 8 GB SODIMM format. This means that in total we have a kit of 16 GB of RAM. Quantity more than enough for playing and browsing, among other things. This memory kit does not have much more, since it is a simple and economical solution for laptops and Mini PCs.
This is not a Kingston product, this is an imitation, which should work and perform well, but of course we cannot guarantee this.
Fangxiang S500 1TB M.2 SSD
The chosen mini PC has an M.2 port, so for better performance, we chose a compatible reader. The Fangxiang unit caught our eye, for having a capacity of 1TB, which isn’t bad. This Fanxiang S500 1TB case is worth 57.87 dollars, which represents a discount of 65%.
According to the data, the S500 drive with a capacity of 1TB is based on the PCIe 3.0 interface. The specifications say it can reach a reading speed of 3,500 MB/s and up to 3,000 MB/s writing. We have to take into account that it might be using memory chips and a controller from 2/3 generations ago, so the performance might be a bit worse.
Although we don’t know the potential and actual performance, it can be a good solution if you are looking to have a powerful system and save a little.
