You’ve definitely never seen Mass Effect like this: a YouTube video shows what the role-playing series would have looked like if it were included Iso view instead of shoulder perspective been developed. Surprisingly good, is the answer! Maybe Bioware will switch over to Diablo in the future?
But of course you don’t have to trust us blindly – just watch the said video for yourself. With sound there’s an additional nostalgia flash!

Mass Effect in Miniature
Asari, salarians, turians, humans, they all look like little models inhabiting a miniature world in the video. The clip wants to achieve exactly the same effect by taking the iso perspective from diagonally above – and by accelerating the movements of the figures. Has clearly something of the old stop-motion films, right?
We see many environments that we are very familiar with from the trilogy. For example the mighty space station Citadel, the political center of the Milky Way. Or the noble club Afterlife, in which asari dance on poles and ruthless gangster Aria rules with an iron fist. Does that make you want to go back to Mass Effect? We have lots of items ready:
And of course the most familiar of all locations should not be missing: our spaceship, the Normandy. If you look closely, you will recognize Shepard and Kelly. Other well-known characters from the series will also be there – are any of you spotting Wrex?
Tiny Mass Effect is not a playable mod but a YouTube channel project Flurdeh. You can also find similar videos on Dead Space Remake, Dark Souls, GTA 5 and many more.
What’s next for Mass Effect? The next part is already confirmed and we already know that we will at least see Liara again. However, Bioware is currently working on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, which still has no release date. So it will be a few years before we get our hands on a new Mass Effect.
How do you like Mass Effect with the iso perspective and the miniature feeling? Would you play it like this if there was a real mod for it? Do the Reapers still look menacing when you look at them from way up like model trains? Write us!
