The rumor and the latest leak hit the nail on the head: LEGO 2K Drive exists. The Visual Concepts game is likely to draw people in with its Forza Horizon vibe and adaptability.
Our colleagues from VGC had the right information. 2K Games has confirmed the development of a racing game called LEGO 2K Drive. Release date, concept, platforms, all the details.
LEGO 2K Drive, THE racing game for brick fans
Unlike Marvel and Disney games LEGO 2K drive is not canceled and presents itself. Referring to Mario Kart, 2K Games refers to it as instead « AAA adventure racing game ». A title playable in single player and multiplayer modes and taking place in an open world. An open world that the player can explore at the wheel of fully customizable vehicles of all types created by them. City cars, SUVs and even boats.
From this description and the pictures, we have a feeling that LEGO Group and 2K Games took their inspiration from Forza Horizon or even Ubisoft’s The Crew. A game developed by a team we wouldn’t bet on: Visual Concepts. The studio for NBA 2K and WWE 2K titles. The big gap!
With the history of the LEGO brand, we have been very aware of our responsibility towards our partners and our long-time fans. For LEGO 2K Drive we have assembled a world-class team of developers who put their hearts into creating an unforgettable experience.

Creation at the heart of the experience
LEGO 2K Drive will be released on May 19, 2023 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. And Brick fans can rest easy, they come into their own. Each of them can shape their vehicle by building it piece by piece, just like a physical LEGO set. In order to build the coolest possible means of transport, more than 1,000 parts will be available. And for those who have no imagination, no time, or both, there are preset classics. In bulk: the McLaren Souls GT and F1 LM, vroom vrooms from Forza Speed Champions…
In terms of game modes, there will be competitive multiplayer for up to six players, a co-op experience, and single-player content with a story. And on site? Two player split screen. Alongside the different biomes, expect challenges, mini-games, collectibles and more “destroying things”.
On PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, LEGO 2K Drive sells for $80 compared to $70 on other platforms. Two more versions are planned and here is the content:
- Awesome Edition: $99 with a new vehicle, an in-game minifigure, a bonus item and the Year 1 Driving Pass
- Awesome Rivals Edition: $129, which includes multiple vehicles, in-game minifigures, a bonus item, and the Year 1 Driving Pass
The Year 1 Driving Pass implies that the LEGO Group and 2K Games intend to follow their baby through several years, with paid new features throughout the months.
