Elden Ring won Game of the Year at the Game Developers Choice Awards, beating out several other heavyweights.
These include Ragnarok, Pentiment, Stray, Tunic, and Immortality. The game has been wildly popular since its release, drawing rapturous applause from the packed game developer conference room.
Other awards were given to other outstanding games released this year. These include:
- God of War: Ragnarok – Best Audio
- Stray – Best Debut
- Elden Ring – Best Design
- Immortal – Innovation Award
- Pentiment – Best Narrative
- Citizen Sleeper – Social Impact Award
- God of War: Ragnarok – Best Tech
- Elden Ring – Best Visual Art
- God of War: Ragnarok – Viewer’s Choice
The awards are held in conjunction with GDC 2023, a conference filled with interesting presentations and roundtable discussions. It’s often seen as an educational event for developers, as well as a networking week for building relationships and closing deals for upcoming projects.
