Fans of Horizon: Forbidden West are surely waiting impatiently for the release of the announced DLC Burning Shores. But there is a small catch that you should know.
Are you looking forward to Horizon: Forbidden West – Burning Shores? The new and first DLCs for the action RPG, which will be released on April 19th? Good. Guerrilla games apparently as well. The developers have released a fresh trailer that should prepare you for the expansion and one interesting detail catches the eye.
Apparently you can’t just start the Burning Shores DLC when it appears. Apparently, you must have completed all of the main game’s story missions as a prerequisite. Sounds logical insofar as the events in Burning Shores are set after those of the main game, but it’s still a detail that shouldn’t be ignored if you haven’t finished the game yet and want to avoid a nasty surprise.
Anyway, once you’ve completed the main story missions and installed the DLC, Sylens will approach you and send you on your new quest. Incidentally, Sylens is spoken again in the DLC by the recently deceased Lance Reddick, who we also know as the voice of Commander Zavala from Destiny 2 and as the concierge in the John Wick films.
What awaits you in Burning Shores? Well, according to the Playstation Blog, the synopsis reads: “Our creative vision for Burning Shores is an ambitious expansion that takes Aloy to the ruins of Los Angeles. This overgrown and devastated city can cross the water and fly on the back of a Sunwing can be fully explored. However, a huge machine menace lurks in the shadows – a great challenge that Aloy will have to overcome with all her skills and abilities. In order to be able to technically and creatively realize this great vision, we have made the difficult decision, all our Focus efforts on creating an incredible gaming experience exclusively for the PlayStation 5 console.”
