The horror remake of Resident Evil 4 has apparently got off to a good start – at least that’s true for the popular PC platform Steam. Because there the new edition was able to set a franchise record directly.
With the comeback of Resident Evil 4 in the form of a remake, Capcom has apparently hit the mark. Of course, there are still no official sales figures one day after the release, but the launch on Steam bodes well for the developer and publisher.
As from data of SteamDB shows that Resident Evil 4 Remake has set a franchise record on the popular PC platform. Within the first 24 hours, the peak number of players playing at the same time was 151,608 gamers – and so many have never played a Resident Evil game on Steam at the same time.
To put things in perspective, Resident Evil Village has been the franchise leader in this category so far. This part of the series was able to attract “only” 106,631 players on Steam at the same time; in this respect, the new remake has once again been able to gain a lot.
Resident Evi 4 was originally released in 2005. The remake now offers significantly upgraded graphics and promises an even more exciting atmosphere. There is also a New Game+ mode, new character designs and different control schemes on board. The crafting system has been expanded, there are more weapon options in battle, and quick-time events have been minimized.
