We tell you everything you need to know about the next time change in USA.
During the next morning from Saturday to Sunday, a time change will take place in USA to adapt to daylight saving time. This time it will be up to us advancing the time of our watches and electronic devices. In this article, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about daylight saving time as well as what you need to do on your iPhone and Apple Watch to make sure you live on time from Sunday.
The royal decree stipulates that the time zone must be adapted in summer and winter in order to adapt working hours to hours of sunshine. The summer time change takes place on the last Sunday of March each year. This time it will be at dawn on Sunday, March 26. Specifically, the time change determines that at 02:00 on Sunday, we will have to move forward one hour to 03:00..
In the Canary Islands, watches must be advance one more hour from 01:00h at dawn on Sunday March 26, becoming 02:00.
What to do to make sure iPhone changes time
Fortunately, the Apple iPhone has a default configuration system with which European time zone integrated. The same goes for the Apple Watch. Therefore, both devices should do the time change automatically without you having to worry about anything.
But it is nevertheless recommended make sure this setting is enabled to make sure your iPhone and Apple Watch have the correct time after the Sunday time change.
iPhone
Follow these instructions to enable automatic time change on your iPhone:
- open app settings in you iPhone (or iPad).
- Go to section General.
- Then click on the section Date and hour.
- Finally, select the option automatic adjustment.
The default time zone should be Madrid.
The truth is that, in my case, I had disabled the automatic adjustment because I remember that I preferred to do it manually. So it’s possible that if I hadn’t discovered the time change, I would have traveled back in time for probably an entire day.
apple watch
Fortunately, the time will change automatically if your Apple Watch is synced with the iPhone, but you still need to follow the same steps to make sure your iPhone changes the time automatically:
- open app settings on iPhone.
- Go to section General.
- Then go to the section Date and hour.
- Finally select the option automatic adjustment.
How to manually change the time on Apple Watch
Another option to change the time is to do it manually (up to 59 minutes) via the Apple Watch by following these steps:
- open app settings of the clock.
- to push on +0 mins.
- turn it digital crown and choose how much you want to advance the smartwatch time.
- Finally, press List.
This may be the last weather change in history
Or maybe not. The European Union has spent several years trying to reform daylight saving time. to stop changing the time in summer and winter. A survey revealed that 80% of citizens wanted to stop making the time change.
In principle, 2019 would be the last year in which the time change would be made. But it was eventually postponed to 2021. The cancellation didn’t happen either. Now recently from USA it was determined what will be the date of the time change until 2026so everything seems to indicate that for now, maybe, we will continue to travel to the past and the future for a few hours a year.
