PlayStation Plus’ free April games contain a few hidden gems

It’s once again time for PlayStation fans to fire up their console’s jet engines and check out April’s batch of PlayStation Plus games. Imma, keep it to yourself, I half-expected Sony to come out of the gates with a cavalcade of Capcom titles this month, to be precise resident Evil Games given the good response Resident Evil 4 make new is since its release. Unfortunately, the April portion of video games is filled with neither well-known games like last months still packed with zombie goodness as i thought they have guts and deserve their moment in the spotlight.

Sackboy: A great adventure

PS5 owners will remember this Little Big Planet‘s plush platformer spin-off, Sackboy: A great adventureheld its ground as one of the five first-party launch titles for Sony’s ninth-gen console. Sackboy: A great adventure, developed by Sumo Digital, is a 3D platformer that has you racing around dangerous obstacle courses in single player and co-op levels. In our review we said Sackboy: A great adventure had “excellent music” and a “relaxed atmosphere”. On the downside, we’ve said that its themed gimmick of handcrafted worlds becomes thin after a while, and that the game suffers from a “lack of challenge”. Your mileage may vary.

Iron tails

Iron tails, created by British developer Odd Bug Studio, is a hand-drawn 2D action role-playing game. You play as Redgi, a rat king who must restore balance to his kingdom by liberating it from an invading frog clan called the Frog Clan. You know, typical Rattie stuff. Since its release in September 2021, Tales of Iron has received very positive user reviews on Steam Some call it a “sweet play with [a]surprisingly good story and entertaining, soul-like combat” and others say, “There’s great production value here that can justify full price if you can’t wait for a sale.”
